Short but Sweet
August 6, 2012
Hi. Its me. I dont know what to tell you today. I had a good week. I love my companion. I am speaking a lot of french. I mean a lot of french. Almost all the time with her and then the only time I speak english is when we are teaching in english or if there is someone who doesnt speak french. So yeah. Its not bad at all though. Its starting to come more naturally. I still sometimes realize there is vocabulary that I dont know but besides that its good.
The work is moving here in Lausanne. We have some great potentials this week. We actually just had somewhat of a lesson with a family that Sr. Echols contacted before she left. The husband is not very believing but he is somewhat open and the wife is believing and very willing to learn. They have two children, a boy and girl. The son was at a friends house playing so we havent met him yet but the daughter is so cute. She is two years old and five months and she is a talker, reminds me of Addison. Sometimes its especially hard for me to understand her because a baby speaking french is not the easiest thing to translate but she was very sweet. They seem to have potential. He drank two or three beers during the lesson. That was a first for me haha. So word of wisdom will be something but we have little things to work on with them to start. Such as for the father, the fact that God exists and the plan of salvation. For the wife it will be more of the fact that we have a living prophet here on the earth today and modern day revelation. Mais bref, this could be the family that I have been waiting for for nine months.
So yes I had a good week and we have a busy week ahead. Thursday I will be going to the doctor for my knee. Its not any worse but it still is giving me problems. Mom... its not my shoes, I have changed them. Tomorrow we will having district meeting which is normally on thursday but we are having a special training. Other exciting news about this transfer is that Elder Teixeira will be at our zone conferences. Pretty cool. Then I dont think I said this but Elder Anderson will be coming to the mission in November. We are excited here in the France Lyon Mission.
I dont have any other cool news. I love you family and was happy to see that everyone is doing well. That new baby is so close to being here I cant even believe it. I wish I would be home to see her but that will have to wait. May God be with you as you continue in your daily lives.
Love,
Soeur Kimberly Addis
