Happy Birthday Allison

August 20, 2012

I know I am far away but a big happy birthday from Switzerland. Its rare that the actual birthday falls on a p-day so consider yourself lucky :)

How are you fam bam? I am doing okay. Its super hot, and it has been hot for the last several days. It will continue to be hot until wednesday or something like that.

This week has been a week of change for us. It started when we got a call around wednesday last week that we would be receiving a mini missionary that will be with us for two weeks. She arrives today. Her name is Sr. N and she is from Aix-en-Provence, FRANCE. She was baptized May 2011 so its a little over a year. I dont know anything else about her except that she is great and she is considering going on a mission. Therefore this is a big responsibility so that she will have a wonderful experience and decide to serve a mission! We are very excited and pleased that President Roney has chosen us to do this.

The second call came Friday evenning. APs again. Thought it would be something concerning our mini missionary. But it was bad news. We were asked to leave Lausanne and attend the ward in Renens, just right next door. I may have teared up while talking to Elder G. about how this is going to work. Mostly because we were not able to see the members in Lausanne at church to tell them about the change. We were happy to find out however that we will still be working in Lausanne and with the members. Its just more responsibilty to work with two wards. Thankfully, Renens is a great ward with awesome members. They were SO grateful to have the sisters back in their ward, it was only three weeks without missionaires but I guess it was a long three weeks. Anyway, like I said it was a week of change. But change is almost always good! I am grateful to be able to meet even more members here in Switzerland. I will have you know that I have now served in 3 of the 4 villes in switzerland where sisters serve. The other is two other wards in Geneve. The sisters there work with both the english ward and french ward. Maybe by the end I will be able to say that I have served in all the villes possible in Switzerland.

Something that I asked myself yesterday at church is, who am I to be blessed to be born into the gospel of Jesus Christ? There are BILLIONS of people that have lived, are living and will live on the earth and I have been blessed to know the gospel of Jesus Christ since the day I was born. Why am I so blessed and others are not. Why was I born into a family that was members of the church and others struggle day in and day out to know who if there is even a purpose to this life? What a wonderful blessing it really is to have a knowledge of this gospel and a testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lords church here on the earth.

Anyway not much more to say about this week. It was good. I love the Lord. I am trying more and more everyday. Ate with an American family yesterday but talked half the time in french so my companion would understand. They are awesome. The mom even bought us a bag of groceries. So sweet.  I hope everyone is doing well and loving life. Loved the pictures and the story about addison and her diaper. Also I am glad that Addison is enjoying an old purse of mine. It looks cuter on her anyway :) How did she get that by the way?

Lots of Love,
Soeur Addis
